Can't get online? Getting "No Internet" messages? This guide will help you diagnose and fix common Wi-Fi and internet connection problems on Windows.

Symptoms

  • Shows "No Internet" or a yellow triangle on the network icon

  • Pages won't load, but Wi-Fi appears connected

  • Intermittent disconnections

Step-by-Step Resolution

1. Check Router and Other Devices

  1. Confirm your phone or another device can get online on the same Wi-Fi

  2. If nothing works, restart your modem/router by unplugging power for 30 seconds

  3. Plug back in and wait 2-3 minutes for it to fully restart

2. Toggle Wi-Fi on Your PC

  1. Click the network icon in the taskbar

  2. Turn Wi-Fi off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on

  3. Reconnect to your usual network and re-enter the password if asked

3. Run Windows Network Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters

  2. Run Internet Connections and follow the prompts

  3. Apply any suggested fixes

4. Reset the Network Adapter

  1. Right-click Start > Device Manager

  2. Expand Network adapters

  3. Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and choose Disable device

  4. Wait a few seconds, then choose Enable device

  5. Try connecting again

5. Use Network Reset (Last Resort)

  1. Go to Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings

  2. Click Network reset

  3. Click Reset now, then restart your PC

  4. You'll need to reconnect to Wi-Fi and re-enter passwords
